So it is that time of the semester again in which many people ask if this is actually a real thing, and why is it called that? Well the answer is simple yes and S.H.A.G. Week stands for Sexual Health Awareness Week. Which is exactly what goes on throughout the campus for the duration of the week. From the distribution of SHAG packs and plenty of event from comedy gigs to contests. There will be consent workshops running throughout the week as well as plenty of information on STI’s including a clinic. Hello again first years, Now, from reading that title I have undoubtedly peaked your interest as I knew it would as don't we all secretly have a dirty and inquisitive mind eager to find out more, well I know I do (I say with blushing cheeks from behind a laptop screen). And before I go on, NO!! SHAG Week is not something I made up just to catch your eye and keep attention focused nor is it an alternative name for now uncondoned RAG Week. Instead SHAG Week (Sexual Health Awareness and Guidence) week is a fun, busy and informative week and one of the biggest events on the NUIG Calendar. There will be a load of events held during the week including the infamously funny SeX Rated hypnotist Michael McCoy who will be wreaking havoc on February 8th in a show not to be missed and the week will include also shows put on by drama soc related around the topic of the week.
