Hi to all our first years, mentors and mentor leaders

If you found student connect helpful when coming to NUIG last September why not give back by volunteering to be a mentor this year.  You can apply at:  To be a mentor you need to attend a short training course.  You have the choice of attending on Wednesday 22nd March or Tuesday 28th March.

Student Connect has been truly invigorated over the last 3 years.  Why?  Because it is the only truly student led programme in the University.  Its also the biggest club on campus so why not volunteer!

Healthy Lifestyle during Exams

Exams! Assignments! Projects! Oh no!

Christmas is just around the corner, which means exams are even closer, and it is most definitely not the most wonderful time of the year. It can be very easy to let things run by the way side during exam season. Here are some tips from mentors on how to keep yourself in check for the coming weeks!

Make a timetable and study plan…. and stick to it!

Fail to prepare, prepare to fail! Planning is usually always a first port of call, but don’t just make a schedule  and toss it aside.

Volunteering to some people is giving your own time and energy to help someone, and not get a single cent in return; to this they say, ‘What’s the point in that?’ However, that is far from the case. Volunteering is an exceptional addition to any Curriculum Vitae. You’re not just a student who recently got a nice degree from a University, you're someone who has adaptable and transferrable skills, someone who has earned a bit more life experience than the next degree holder who is waiting to walk in after you are finished your job interview.

Hope you are all settling into college life without any problems and that everything is going really well for you all!
