  1. Let’s Go Shopping!

There are so many places to go shopping in Galway. From the big shopping centers, the larger chain stores and the small boutiques there are plenty places to find just what you’re looking for.

  1. Let’s go Eat!

Galway has some of the best restaurants around. Check out some of these restaurants who do an early bird so you can eat like a king on a student’s dime.

  • The Eastern Tandoor in Spanish Arch (Indian)
  • Il Folletto on Quay Street (Italian)
  • Cactus Jacks on Druid Lane (Mexican)
  • McSwiggins on the WoodQuay (Irish)
  • Royal Villa in Salthill (Chinese)
  • Cava on Dominick Street (Spanish Tapas)

  1. Let’s go see the Culture!

Galway has recently been named the European Capital of Culture for 2020. We have the museum, art galleries, the Cathedral and numerous bus tours for you to experience the Culture filled Galway.

  1. Let’s go to the Market!

Every weekend the Galway City market pops up on Market Street at the bottom of shop street. They have numerous stalls selling cooked food, fresh fruit and vegetables, handmade jewelry and clothes, paintings and photos and the best doughnuts you will ever experience!

  1. Let’s go listen to Music!

We have numerous places to go to listen to live music. Venues such as The Loft at Seven, The Roisin Dubh, The Quays and Monroes host events on a regular basis. Whether it is an up and coming DJ, one of your favourite bands or a local start up you will defiantly find something worth going to.

  1. Let’s go to Spanish Arch!

When the Sun is out there is only one place to be and that’s Sparch! The atmosphere is always amazing and you’ll definately run into everyone you know in Galway while you’re down there. Why not grab some food at Boojum or at McDonaghs Fish and chips and enjoy the beautiful views of the Arch.
